PRIMARY FUNCTION

Responsible for identifying,growing, and strengthening relationships with current and prospective donors through enhanced communications and by developing, implementing and tracking engagement/cultivation strategies in order to increase revenues to support the work of Catholic Community Services. Provides high-level customer service and stewardship to our supporters in writing, by telephone and in person. Paramount to this position is the ability to work with a high degree of independence, and juggle various projects at once, while maintaining a clear view of how each project supports CCS's Mission and Valued Actions. Position may from time to time be stressful and require a high demand of performance. May preform other duties as assigned. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Design, document and implement a systematic and integrated donor relations program
  • Responsible for the donor discovery process, including but not limited to researching the financial capacity of annual givers evolving into major gift donors or legacy donors
  • Assist the Director of Development with acquiring sponsorships for assigned programs
  • Assist with the diversification of the annual fund through grant writing, solicitation, and stewardship
  • Evaluate the quality and impact of the donor relations/stewardship activities annually and present any recommendations to increase the annual giving each year
  • Assist the Director of Development with forecasting to align with the Corporate Strategic Plan
  • Manage and ensure accuracy of information in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system regarding gift/pledge receipt, payment tracking and reminders, acknowledgement, recognition, on-going communications and continued cultivation of donors and prospects to enhance their relationship with CCS
  • Process donations, conduct merges, generate donor acknowledgements/reminders
  • Analyze data using CRM queries and prepare reports
  • Regularly update corporate website content with current and relevant information
  • Prepare and coordinate production of donor communications, including email and printed newsletters, email updates, development materials, and annual report
  • Research grants from new foundations and funding resources to determine requirements and CCS eligibility
  • Assist with final reports for grants and other writing needs
  • Responsible for the effective database management and reporting on all aspects of the donor relationship.  Provides comprehensive administrative support to the Development and Marketing Department to include event logistics and donor communications 
  •  As necessary, will recruit and supervise volunteers to help with department efforts
  • Provide professional assistance and interaction with donors and prospects by phone, computer and face-to-face
  • Attends internal and external meetings and CCS community events as required
  • Maintain physical donor communication materials and inventory of development team supplies
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, detail oriented, well organized, focused and goal-oriented with a high level of initiative and energy as well as problem solving skills
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Exceptional understanding of philanthropy as it relates to the not-for-profit organization and a wide and deep knowledge of fundamental discipline of resource development
  • Answer general development phone inquiries
  • Maintain electronic/paper files and document procedures
  • Ability to create, execute and /or support and oversee a comprehensive donor acknowledgement and recognition plan including advising on complete and carefully orchestrated cultivation events and program for the major donors
  • May drive personal or agency vehicle on company business

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Suitable work experience may be considered as transferable skills in order to meet minimum requirements of the position and will be considered by the Corporate Director of Human Resources.

  • Bachelor Degree in Marketing, Communications, Nonprofit Administration, Public Administration, or a related field
  • Two years nonprofit donor relations experience
  • Prior experience in database management, i.e. Raiser's Edge or eTapestry
  • Obtain State of Level One Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Valid driver's license for State of Arizona, proof of insurance and minimum standard 39 month MVR report
  • Proven skills utilizing Microsoft Office Suite, Excel and Power Point
  • Strong communication skills oral, and written are clear, concise, and in an organized fashion using appropriate style, grammar and tone that are effective with a diverse range of audiences including board members, volunteers, internal staff, donors, executives, potential funding partners and all constituencies

 

 DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Masters in Business Administration, Finance, or other related field.
