About this opportunity:

Position: Case Manager ll Foster and Adoption Licensing Specialist 07

Location: Tucson

Provides comprehensive services to foster and adoption and Interstate Compact (ICPC) clients, including initial assessment, licensing, re-licensing, supervision, training, and ongoing support. Participates in the coordination of foster children placements on an on-call basis. Heavy travel is required. May require evenings and weekends. Position may from time to time be stressful and require a high demand of performance. May perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions

  • Conducts agency orientation in person or by phone with potential resource (foster) families; follows orientation with screening interview of interested applicants in person; provides general information and initial foster care application packet
  • Participates in initial trainings (Foster Parent College) for licensing, helps identify community resources that will meet the advanced training requirement
  • Remains in contact with families during application and pre-service training process; provides support, assistance, and assures that prospective foster parents progress through each step towards licensing in a timely manner
  • Completes initial, renewal, and amendment licensing home studies
  • Completes family and adoption home studies referred by the Department of Child Safety (DCS) for ICPC
  • Enters home studies into Quick Connect in a timely manner as per contract and submits all required Foster Home Licensing documents to the Office of Licensing, and Regulations (OLR)
  • Recommends approval or denial of licensure of foster home in each home study
  • Upon completion of licensing, maintains contact with foster family through home visits, as specified by program, state and contract requirements
  • Conducts licensing inquiries and submits report to OLR
  • Coordinates foster home placements and exits between the DCS Case Manager and foster home; takes On-Call rotations
  • Completes assessment of potential ICPC family, prepares the home study and submits to DCS/ICPC Unit
  • Monitors children placed through ICPC monthly
  • Completed quarterly monitoring reports to DCS/ICPC Unit
  • Maintains case records in accordance with program requirements
  • Provides periodic, on-call crisis support and services to foster families
  • Participates as member of the DCS service team, which includes participation in ongoing case plan staffing's and Child and Family Teams
  • Participates in group support services for foster parent retention and recruitment efforts by organizing and facilitating social events and activities; assists with facilitating parent support meetings and training
  • Collects and submits data / reports to meet agency and contract requirements
  • May drive agency or personal vehicle on company business

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA in Human Services or related field
  • 1 year of related experience in Human Services or related field
  • Pass pre-employment and annual drug screening
  • Proven computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills oral and written communications are clear, concise, and organized
  • Valid State of Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certification
  • Valid Arizona Driver's License, proof of insurance, Arizona Motor Vehicle Division 39-month Motor Vehicle Report, and reliable, safe transportation
  • Bilingual, English / Spanish verbal and written

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Human Services or related field
  • Additional years of directly related experience in foster care
