About this opportunity
Position: Licensed Counselor
Location: Tucson
Provides direct services including counseling, case management and advocacy for Deaf, Hard of Hearing and Deaf-Blind populations in the areas of vocation, life management, personal growth, and mental health concerns. Administers individual, family and group counseling, maintains necessary case records and client file documentation. Major emphasis is placed on providing services to Deaf persons in the area of counseling. Position may from time to time be stressful and require a high demand of performance. May perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions
- Completes mental health evaluation/assessment on Deaf, Hard of Hearing and Deaf-Blind adults, youth and children, with supervisor's oversight
- Provides intake services to include reviewing referral information, completing Case History (biopsychosocial), Intake, Confidentiality, Consent to Treat, Authorization to Release Information, and other forms, presenting information to team at weekly intake meetings, and completing and implementing consumer service treatment plans
- Provides direct service to individuals at the COPD office, community settings, home residences, and/or at job sites
- Provides individual, family and group counseling (substance abuse/dependence, women's groups and parent groups)
- Maintains case records and documentation for each consumer
- Participates in training and in-services as required to enhance professional growth
- Other duties may be assigned
- May drive agency or personal vehicle on company business
Minimum Qualifications
Suitable work experience may be considered as transferable skills in order to meet minimum requirements of the position and will be considered by the Corporate Director of Human Resources.
- Master's in Counseling, Rehabilitation, Social Work or related field
- LPC, LISW, LAC or NBCC
- Fluent in American Sign Language
- 2 years of experience working with Deaf, Hard of Hearing and/or Deaf-Blind individuals in a professional capacity
- Obtain State of Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card and pass drug screening
- Valid Arizona Driver License, proof of insurance and Arizona Motor Vehicle Division 39-month Motor Vehicle Report
