About this opportunity
Position: Program Coordinator - Financial Counselor
Location: Pio Decimo, Tucson
Responsible for recruitment, enrollment, loan processing and case management for the Assets for Families Program. Will assist Program Director in overseeing predatory loan alternative program. Position may from time to time be stressful and require a high demand of performance. May perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions
- Advise borrowers on financial status and payment methods. Includes mortgage loan officers and agents, collection analysts, loan servicing officers, and loan underwriters
- Provide initial screening, intakes, interviews, and eligibility assessment of clients
- Evaluate, authorize, or recommend approval of predatory loan alternative products
- Conduct outreach within the community, representing Pio Decimo Center in local events
- Ensure participants are meeting program requirements, including making loan payments, attending required workshops, and meeting with program coordinator, as required
- Advise borrowers on financial status and payment due dates
- Meet with clients individually to assess needs, develop personal financial plans, and provide available resources and support, as needed
- Assist in implementation of new program activities
- Responsible for program tracking and reporting, including loan payments
- May drive agency or personal vehicle on company business
- Network with community agencies to enhance service opportunities for clients
Minimum Qualifications
Suitable work experience may be considered as transferable skills in order to meet minimum requirements of the position and will be considered by the Corporate Director of Human Resources.
- Associate Degree or equivalent experience
- Experience working effectively with individuals who are experiencing poverty
- Ability to interpret financial documents, including loans and tax documents
- Excellent data entry skills (speed and accuracy)
- Proven skills utilizing Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent organizational skills
- Proven strong communication skills oral and written communications are clear and concise using appropriate style, grammar and tone
- Obtain State of Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Valid Arizona Driver License, proof of insurance and Arizona Motor Vehicle division 39 months Motor Vehicle Report
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- Bilingual in English/Spanish
- Additional years of directly related experience
