About this opportunity:

Position: Associate Director

Location: Tucson

Full-time, Exempt

Assists the Executive Director of Pio Decimo with the development and implementation of the agency's Resource Development and Marketing strategic plans. Manages all aspects of the Pio Decimo Assets for Families programs in Southern Arizona, Cochise, and Yuma County. Develops and implements new programs and services. The position will head the agency in the absence of the Executive Director & requires the ability to work closely with the business office staff in Tucson, Corporate, Management Team, and the Chief Executive Officer. Position may from time to time be stressful and require a high demand of performance. May perform other tasks as assigned.


  • Assures compliance with Federal, State, and local funding requirements for programs
  • Writes or assists with writing grants and proposals to increase agency funding resources
  • Works with the Executive Director in developing and implementing strategies to increase individual giving program
  • Develops program/agency materials, such as brochures, information cards, videos, etc. to support marketing and community education regarding services
  • Represents the interests of the programs with other agencies, funding sources, CCS management, and the larger community
  • Reviews policies and procedures for program operations and recommends updates as needed
  • Maintains statistics and records and prepares or oversees preparation of all required program reports for submission to the appropriate agencies
  • Assists Executive Director in developing and monitoring agreements with outside agencies to maximize resources for program services as needed
  • Develops and participates in steering committees or network groups as needed to assist in the implementation of projects and enhance program services
  • Participates in and facilitates regular meetings with program staff, partner organizations, and outside agencies
  • Assists with developing, monitoring, and implementing budgets for services and programs
  • Participates in the development and implementation of a quality management plan to ensure that project goals are met, and corrective action taken when problems are identified
  • Authorizes program expenditures, evaluates directly supervised staff, and recommends salary adjustments and disciplinary action if needed


Suitable work experience may be considered as transferable skills in order to meet minimum requirements of the position, and will be considered by the Corporate Director of Human Resources.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Services or related human service field.
  • 3 years of experience supervising and managing programs
  • 3 years of experience in developing, managing and analyzing budgets
  • 3 years of experience in proposal and grant writing
  • Proven skills utilizing Microsoft Office Suite, including speed and accuracy in developing and maintaining reports and databases
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Proven strong communication skills oral and written are clear, concise, and in an organized fashion using appropriate style, grammar and tone
  • Ability to obtain State of Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Valid Arizona Driver License, proof of insurance and Arizona Motor Vehicle division 39 months Motor Vehicle Report


  • Master's Degree in related field
  • Bilingual, English / Spanish written and verbal
  • Certified as an enrolled agent
  • Additional years of directly related experience
