OVERVIEW: The Teacher is responsible for creating and implementing lesson plans in a licensed child and preschool facility for children ages 3-6; evaluates children and supervises Teacher Assistants and Program Aides as needed. Assists with the childcare, after school and summer activities programs for children 5-12. May coordinate the transportation of children for the after school and summer programs.
OTHER: $500.00 (gross) hiring bonus for selected candidate(s) paid on first payroll.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Suitable work experience may be considered as transferable skills to meet minimum requirements of the position and will be considered by the Corporate Director of Human Resources.
- Working toward a Child Development Associates (CDA) certificate or Associate Degree in early childhood education or related field
- 1 year teaching experience in an Early Childhood licensed or in a recreation facility
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong communication skills: spelling, grammar, proofreading, and punctuation; oral and written communications are clear and concise, using appropriate style, grammar and tone
- Ability to lift 20 pounds 10% of work time, and bend, stoop, climb, and reach
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Additional years of experience working in an early childhood education or recreation facility
- Has CDA, AA, or other degree in Early Child Education or related area
- Bilingual (English / Spanish)
REGULATORY:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Valid Driver's License, proof of insurance, and 39-Month MVR Report
- Pass criminal background check and Department of Child Services Central Registry check
- Ability to obtain and maintain Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
- CPR/AED & First Aid maintained throughout employment (company paid)
- Pre-employment drug screen (incudes marijuana, regardless of recreational use laws) (company paid)
- Obtain and maintain Food Handler's Permit throughout employment (company paid)
- Obtaining immunizations, including TB Test / TB Chest X-Ray and maintain throughout employment (company paid)
