OVERVIEW: The Case Manager Lead provides change-focused interventions to Department of Child Safety (DCS) referred families to achieve Family Connections program core outcomes of: Social support, family function, family resources, child well-being, parenting attitudes and behavior and management of parental stress.
Provide services for the Nurturing Parenting Program (NPP). NPP works with the family in their homes or temporary residence and assists them to strengthen parental protective factors to reduce the risk of child abuse or neglect and enhance parent/caregiver capacities so that children are safe in their own homes. Case types for both FCC or NPP may include family preservation, reunification, or stabilization.
Provide or arrange for transportation of the client, addresses risks of child abuse and/or neglect in client families. Working in communities and travel to family homes is required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Suitable work experience may be considered as transferable skills in order to meet minimum requirements of the position and will be considered by the Corporate Director of Human Resources.
- Bachelor of Social Work degree or a related field and a minimum of one (1) year of human services work related experience.
- Must be able to work as part of a diverse group.
- Must have problem-solving ability.
- Ability to relate well to families of varied lifestyles, backgrounds, and ethnicities.
- Experience with multi-problem families
- Has or obtains knowledge and understanding of Social Work Theory, Family-Centered Practice, family engagement, motivational interviewing, and treatment philosophies of family-based services.
- Has or obtains knowledge and ability to access community resources; helps families connect with needed recourses or services.
- Essential physical requirements include walking, sitting, standing, driving, lifting lightweight office supplies and equipment, talking hearing seeing and writing.
- Obtain State of Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- Pass pre-employment and annual drug screening (includes marijuana regardless of recreational use laws).
- Valid Driver License, proof of insurance, 39-month Motor Vehicle Report, and reliable, safe transportation
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree Social Work, Counseling, or related Human Service field
- Additional years of directly related experience in a child welfare setting.
