OVERVIEW:

This position is housed at the One Stop Center as well as Deaf & Residential Services - Tucson. The PROGRAM COORDINATOR II position meets with consumers and evaluates, trains, and assists One Stop Career Center customers requiring assistance in gaining initial employment or re-employment by giving them access to needed community services. The position will also be referred to as the Workforce Development Specialist. Collaborates and coordinates with employers, One-Stop Programs, Vocational Rehabilitation, training delivery systems, WIOA programs, OJT and Ticket to Work programs. Maintains unit records of consumer contacts to include unit counts, attendance sheets, monthly reports, SOAP notes and ensures that all DOL, WIOA, VR, CARF, DDD and other contractual documentation in client files is complete.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Suitable work experience may be considered as transferable skills in order to meet minimum requirements of the position, and will be considered by the Corporate Director of Human Resources

  • Bachelor's in Rehabilitation, Counseling or Education
  • Basic Sign Language Skills or willingness to learn
  • 2 years in provision of vocational services to special populations, specifically Deaf persons.
  • Knowledge of labor market, vocational service systems and employment/employer supports
  • 1 year of experience in a vocational setting
  • Knowledge of the Vocational Rehabilitation and/or WIOA system

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's in Rehabilitation, Counseling or Education
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language, assistive listening devices, and culture
  • 2 years of experience working directly with Deaf, Hard-of-Hearing individuals and/or disabilities
  • Additional years of directly related experience
  • 1 year of experience working in Rehabilitation
  • 1 year of experience working in Vocational Education
  • First Aid and CPR certification

AGENCY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Obtain State of Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card and maintain throughout employment (company paid)
  • Valid Arizona Driver License, proof of insurance and Arizona Motor Vehicle Division 39 month Motor Vehicle Report
  • Pre-employment drug screen (includes marijuana, regardless of recreational use laws)
